About District
The district of Janjgir-Champa was established on May 25, 1998. Janjgir-Champa district is located in the heart of Chhattisgarh and is therefore considered the heart of Chhattisgarh. The district headquarters, Janjgir, is the city of Maharaja Jajlwaly Dev of the Kula Churi dynasty. Janjgir-Champa district is a major producer of grains in the state of Chhattisgarh. The Vishnu Temple of Janjgir district reflects the district’s golden past. This Vishnu Temple is an ancient artistic example of the Vaishnav community. The Hasdeo-Bango project is considered a lifeline water body for the district of Janjgir-Champa.
